Scallop shucking legend Paul Gidney demonstrates proper scallop shucking techniques while showing off his incredible speed and skill. You can bet I ran right up when he offered the chance to try a Digby scallop fresh and raw right from the shell. It was delicious! It was a highlight of the Scallop Days festival in Digby, Nova Scotia.
Four competitors compete for the title of fastest scallop shucker at the Digby Scallop Days festival in Digby, Nova Scotia. Many time world champion Paul Gidney shucked along with them, shucking twice as many scallops as the winner! As you can hear, I sat next to the daughter of one of the competitors. She was VERY excited!
