Canadian Maritimes – Day 9

August 2016

The final day of our trip was an active one. We took a tour of Halifax and the harbor on the Harbor Hopper, an amphibious vehicle much like the Duck boats in various US cities. We then took a tour of the HMCS Sackville. The vessel also serves at Canadian Navy Memorial. After a lunch of more poutine, we checked out some more history by taking the long walk up the hill to the Halifax Citadel. We took a guided tour and spent more time walking around the fort by ourselves. As we walked back down the hill, we explored more of Halifax and took another stroll on the waterfront. Because the previous night's seafood feast was so good, we did something we don't normally do by going back to the same restaurant and enjoying another meal out on the patio. Then it was time to go pack up for our flight home, but first we stopped at another Cow's Creamery near our hotel for a final taste of ice cream and fresh-made cones.
