Cape Breton – Day 9

July - August 2019

On our last visit to Nova Scotia, we never made it to Peggy's Cove. So, we got up early and headed west of Halifax to check out one of the most picturesque places on the South Shore. Then we drove to Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage for some lunch. After enjoying an al fresco lunch of fish and chips (made by real Brits!), we did some walking and shopping. Then we headed back to Halifax and enjoyed the energetic, yet relaxing, waterfront atmosphere some more. Dinner was a lobster roll and some poutine from mainstays Dave's and Smokes, respectively. See, I told you we know our way around Halifax! It happened to be the Civic Holiday (technically Natal Day in Nova Scotia) so we stayed out on the waterfront late, had another cone from Cows Creamery and watched the fireworks show. Not a bad way to spend the last evening of the trip!
