Cape Breton – Day 3

July - August 2019

We checked out of Baddeck, stopped at a bakery in Margaree Valley for breakfast and made our way to Whale Cove. We visited the Whale Cove Cemetery. Yes, a cemetery. Besides some cool old headstones, it's situated on the coast with some incredible views of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. Then we drove into the Acadian region of Cape Breton. We were ahead of schedule so we drove past the night's stop, Cheticamp, and up through Cape Breton Highlands National Park to Pleasant Bay. We wanted to try the lobster rolls that National Geographic named the best on the Cabot Trail. After lunch, we drove back down the Trail to Cheticamp. We explored the town, checked in, walked a nature trail and found a... yes, you guessed it... seafood restaurant for dinner.
