April 2017
It's hard to get bad food in the south. It's also hard not to gain 100 pounds while enjoying southern food. However, like on most of our vacations, we put a lot of thought into our dining choices so that every carbohydrate is worth it. We found plenty of good places in Savannah. When the shrimp are as fresh as they are in Savannah, you can't help but order the shrimp and grits. We had them at several places and went back for the best one a second time. We also found a New Orleans themed restaurant, a 263 year old pirate hangout and a BBQ joint in an antique diner. Then on our side trip to the South Carolina lowcountry we found a place that felt like a party in someone's backyard. So, I'd say we did quite well!
