Canadian Maritimes – Day 6

August 2016

Our motel had a nature trail behind it so we got up and took a walk on it before checking out of the motel. We stopped in downtown Summerside to explore a bit and wound up eating delicious crepes made by a friendly French Canadian lady in a food truck. Then it was off to Prince Edward Island National Park to visit Green Gables. I never read the Anne of Green Gables books or even saw the movies, but it's one of those things that is synonymous with PEI so we had to go check it out. We then went to the nearby Village of Avonlea to do a little shopping and have a lobster roll. Then we were off to Charlottetown. We walked much of the downtown area, sat outside and ate more seafood (we've moved on to PEI mussel territory) and sampled some ice cream from Cow's Creamery, a Charlottetown original.
