Nino is remembered by various cousins as being a scary looking, tough guy who despite his rough exterior had the heart of a teddybear. He enjoyed telling his cousins stories about his very colorful past. His branch of the Gatti family tree today is carried on by his son, Billy, and his adopted daughter, Laura.
