Niagara Falls Photos

I visited Niagara Falls once before as a kid. That time we stayed on the Canadian (Ontario) side of the falls. We decided to visit again, staying on the U.S. (New York) side this time even though it’s the less interesting side. We planned 1 day in Canada but ran out of things to do in New York and wound up spending 2 days north of the border. Of course, we also researched everything there is to do in the area and made of side trips to see other things that ranged from the Erie and Welland Canals (including locks), a power plant, an aquarium, a Jell-O Museum and more. Take a look at the many photos I took right here.

Toronto and Southern Ontario Photos

In July 2018, we traveled all around southern Ontario for the first half of the trip then spent the second half in Toronto. We spent a few days at a Scottish festival and highland games in Kincardine. We also visited a marine railway, a lift lock, the HMCS Haida, Port Credit Lighthouse and the Mississauga Rib Fest. Back in Toronto, we toured the Rogers Centre, CN Tower, Toronto Island, Fort York, Ontario Legislative Building, Kensington Market, Saint Lawrence Market, Ripley’s Aquarium and every other touristy thing we could think of doing. We even experienced a “credible terror threat” because there’s never a dull moment on our vacations!

Upper Canada Village/Pumpkinferno Photos

Upper Canada Village photosI just posted another album from this past October. This one contains photos from side trip to Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg, Ontario that we took while we were visiting Alexandria Bay and the 1000 Islands region. During the day, we took a guided tour of the British Canadian colonial village. After having been to many American colonial museums/villages over the years, it was quite interesting to see the colonial era from the point of view of the British loyalists. After dinner at the McIntosh Inn, we went back to Upper Canada Village which was transformed into Pumpkinferno. A seasonal display of over 6,000 hand carved pumpkins. It was quite a sight.

You can check out the album right here. Take a look at my 1000 Islands photos here and watch for my Watertown NY photos coming soon too!

Montreal and Ottawa Photos finally posted

Bosecours MarketMy photos from Canada are finally online. We spent 5 days waking around Montreal and exploring the sites. All of the kilometers that we walked were offset by eating tons of amazing French food at a variety of sidewalk cafes. After 5 days of enjoying Québécois hospitality we rented a car and drove to Ottawa where we got to experience the British ceremonial and political side of Canada. I honestly did not how much there was that I didn’t know about Canada. It was a really educational trip. The last day of our trip was spent in Perth, Ontario, where we wentto the Perth Garlic Festival which was a ton of fun and a delicious experience!

The photos can be found in the photos section of the site.
