Vermont & New Hampshire – Day 3

June 2022

Wakeup call (aka iPhone alarm) on day 3 was at 4am again. We got out to the festival grounds for the 6am launch attempt. I say attempt because like the previous day, two brave balloon crews were nice enough to inflate their balloons briefly while fighting the wind to keep them on the ground. We left for another delicious King Arthur lunch and returned to watch a demonstration of dogs catching frisbees. It was entertaining, but they couldn't throw the discs too high for fear that the dogs would land in another state. We then went to Sugarbush Maple Farm. We learned a little about maple syrup and cheddar cheese (including some delicious sample tasting. We took a walk through the maple trees and met a few friendly cows. Not surprisingly, the fifth and final attempt at a balloon launch that evening also never got off the ground.
