June 2024
I've been to Renault Winery before but we thought it would be fun to take a tour of the winery and learn about its history. It turned out to be a really fascinating experience. I had no idea exactly how historic the property was! We had a really good guide who showed us the massive building. Even though wine is no longer produced there and it's largely become an event venue, I'm glad to see the latest owners are still interested in preserving the history of the place too.

Small understated diner? We have to stop!

Breakfast at Little Goat Diner was delicious

When the ants carry pickaxes, we should probably be concerned.

Arriving at Renault Winery

The wine glass room at Renault Winery is a real museum

This is how champagne was once produced

The wine glasses on the right were from the opening of the Eiffel Tower

There are so many historic wine glasses on display

This corridor was built to simulate being outdoors

Antique wine bottling machines

This is one of my favorite rooms

Historic bottles of Renault wine

They don't dress like this in the vineyards anymore

These heads came off some really large wine barrels

These lamps are some one of the original pieces of the property

A lot of wine has passed through this room

Of course they once produced a wine called "Casino Red"

This hall is where mobsters would come into the winery during prohibition

It's pretty cool that Johnny Carson was a spokesman for Renault

My mom stops for a photo op

This is the coolest door in the place

A grape chandelier at a winery might be a little on the nose, but it fits the decor

This year's grapes are starting to grow
