December 2020
Another one of our socially distanced Christmas activities this year was to visit Winter in Wilmington. It was a light display set up in a parking lot on the waterfront in Wilmington, Delaware. You may recognize this (but you probably won't) as the area where Joe Biden gave his victory speech when he finally won the presidency a month or so earlier. It was a fun excursion since we weren't doing much else over the holidays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Conveniently, it also is right across the parking lot from one of our favorite seafood restaurants, Big Fish Grill, so we did some curbside pickup and took home a delicious meal.

I see lights! Arriving at Winter in Wilmington.

A snowman hanging out by a lake of lights

A light tunnel is always fun

I think this guy is flying a kite, but more importantly, check out that moon behind the clouds.

I guess this guy is the town crier?

Giant gingerbread people

I think the horse and carriage got lost and wound up under I-95.

When Santa's sleigh is in the shop, he borrows a fire truck.

Seasons Greetings!

I'm not sure what building that's supposed to be, but its size is impressive.

I had no idea that the North Pole had a weight handling division.

Rocking horse and more

We ended the evening with takeout from our favorite seafood restaurant, Big Fish Grill, which happen to be right across the parking lot from the light display.
