March - April 2018
We got up and drove a few hours north to Evansville, Indiana. Along the way, we stopped in Owensboro, Kentucky for lunch and randomly stumbled upon a barbecue buffet that we didn't know was a true Kentucky institution. We had the chance to sample some regional specialties like mutton, burgoo and sorghum. Once we arrived in Evansville, we went to Mesker Park Zoo for a few hours, checked into our hotel room that overlooked the airport runways and then hit the Tropicana casino for dinner and some slots.
We tried to visit Lost River Cave but it was closed due to the flooding
