April 2015
After an early morning flight to Albuquerque, we drove south to San Lorenzo Canyon. Finding our way to the canyon amongst dirt roads that aren't on Google Maps was a challenge but thanks to the kindness of a local guy, we got there. After exploring the canyon a bit, we headed farther south to the small town of Socorro. We visited the Old San Miguel Mission where we waited for their church services to be over so we could see the inside of the 400-year-old church. We then wandered around the very small downtown area.
It took some aimless driving in the desert and the help of a friendly local to find the canyon
The scenery is spectacular!
Now that is what I call a road hazard
