Montreal and Ottawa – Day 9

August 2011

On day 9, we headed back over to the Hull section of Gatineau, QC, to take a ride on the Paula D down the Ottawa River. Afterward we explored Gatineau and walked across the Interprovincial Bridge to Ottawa. We, of course, then had to walk back since our car was in Gatineau. We planned to go see Mosaika, the light show that is shown on the facade of the Center Block of Parliament each night during the summer. As we walked past parliament on our way to dinner, we saw a lot of military presence at Parliament. We stopped and discovered Fortissimo, an annual military band demonstration was going to start in an hour. So we skipped dinner and stayed at Parliament straight through until Mosaika later that night. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!
