October 2009
While travelling on I-97 to Vermont, I realized that we'd be passing by Orange County Choppers. They have many of the theme bikes that I've seen them build on their Discovery Channel series American Chopper. They also have a viewing area where you can watch the guys work in the shop. I didn't see any Teutels wandering around but we did see Rick Petko and Mike Amorati.

The front of Orange County Choppers' new building is quite impressive

The Christmas Bike is one of OCC's more fun bikes.

The NASA Bike honors the space shuttle

Probably the most meaningful bike that OCC has built, the Fire Bike honors the FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on September 11.

The wall of patches behind the fire bike demonstrates the overwhelming response that it drew from the fire and police community across the nation

The cutout rear fender is one of my favorite features of the POW-MIA bike

The New York Jets Bike

The New York Giants Bike features a football headlight

Yankee pinstripes adorn the front fender of the New York Yankees Bike

Like most of OCC's bikes, the small details on the New York Yankees Bike are what makes it so cool

The rear fender of the New York Yankees Bike shows the years that the Yankees won the World Series

The Make-a Wish Foundation Bike is decorated with children's handprints

Mikey's Blues BIke

A close-up of the gas tank on Mikey's Blues BIke

The Christmas Bike is probably the only bike around with a reindeer head front fender.

OCC's shop is visible from a viewing area. It feels like watching American Chopper with the TV muted.
